Most websites go wrong quietly. A link to a partner stops working, a picture goes missing, or a form stops reaching anyone. Nobody notices until someone complains, or never complains and simply goes elsewhere.
While rebuilding one care provider’s website, we found that the old referral form had been losing every referral it received. Nobody knew.
So every website we build now checks itself once a month, and emails a short report in plain English. It looks at six things:
- Links that no longer work, on your site or on others
- Pictures and downloads that have gone missing
- Pictures with no description for people with a visual impairment
- A copyright year that has not moved on
- Forms whose emails are not reaching you
- Anything not yet translated
If all is well, the report says so in a line. If something needs a look, it tells you what and where, with a link straight to it in the editor. It is included with every website, at no extra cost.
